PS5 Skin Compatibility: Original, Slim & Pro Guide
A PS5 skin needs to match the exact console model and panel configuration. “For PlayStation 5” alone is not enough information. Before choosing a design, identify whether you have an Original, Slim or Pro console, then check the listing for the correct disc-drive configuration and included pieces.
This guide helps you compare a listing with the device you own. A vinyl skin is a decorative adhesive covering; it is not a replacement side panel, console or rigid protective case.
Start with the model number
Sony says the PS5 model number begins with CFI and is printed on the underside of the console when positioned vertically. The base may obscure the label. Follow the manufacturer's handling instructions when checking it, and use the model number rather than a guess based on the console's purchase date.

Do not assume a skin fits a different version because its artwork looks identical. The image design can be reused across several products while the actual cut pattern changes. If a listing does not identify your version clearly, ask before ordering instead of selecting the closest-looking option.
Disc and Digital: check the physical configuration
A disc-drive housing changes the surface a wrap must fit around. Compare the listing's model selector and coverage photos with your console as it is configured now. If you have added hardware or changed the exterior panels, mention that when asking about compatibility.
Skin pieces should align naturally with the intended surface. Stretching a wrap to bridge a different panel shape is not a reliable way to correct a model mismatch. Keep vents, ports, seams and other functional openings clear.
Console skins and controller skins are separate choices
A console shown beside a matching controller does not establish what comes in the package. Read the included-items section for console pieces, controller pieces and quantities. Also distinguish a standard DualSense controller from a DualSense Edge or another controller model; matching color schemes do not establish matching cuts.
For a gift, ask the recipient for the exact console and controller names. A short compatibility check is more useful than trying to infer the device from a photograph of its packaging.
A five-point check before ordering
- Record your console's model number and identify its version.
- Confirm the disc-drive configuration and any changed panels.
- Select a listing or variant that explicitly names that device.
- Read which surfaces and accessories the package includes.
- Compare the design preview with your preferred orientation and coverage.
